According to a news item on MyFM 98.9, it’s lights, camera, action for Norfolk County!
A three-day Routes to Roots Film Festival is coming to the Strand in Simcoe this October. The festival is the brainchild of Strand owner Kent Rapley and newly appointed Judge Mike McArthur that has been in the works for over two years.
Two curators are out scouting for films right now that ties into the theme of Routes to Roots, hoping to put an emphasis on the county.
The goal in future years will be to have the festival open up for budding filmmakers to submit their movies and have a panel dwindle it down, but as this is the first year, they are just seeking films on their own.
