The apocalyptic comedy “Diani & Devine Meet the Apocalypse” will be the Late Night Feature on opening day of the Routes To Roots Film Festival in Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario.

Written and directed by, and starring comedians Etta Devine and Gabriel Diani, the film features a struggling comedy duo who finds surviving the apocalypse is almost as difficult as surviving in Hollywood. When all power and communication systems mysteriously shut off, the unprepared couple pack up their things and hit the road in search of a safe haven to wait out the possible extinction event.

“Bad times make for good, subversive comedy, which partly explains why this gleefully absurdist, end-of-the-world, road movie romance works so very, very well on so many levels,” said the Austin Chronicle.

“Diani & Devine Meet the Apocalypse” will be shown late Friday night, October 20, 2017, at the Strand Theatre, on opening day of the R2RFF film festival.
