The Routes to Roots Film Festival is featuring artist Jen Lados of Norfolk County in its 2018 branding. Her artwork will appear in promotions, including our poster, which will be on the street soon.
Jennifer Lados was born and raised in Norfolk County. As a self taught artist, Jen’s artistic vision stems from experimentation, exploration and play. She enjoys working with media such as paint (acrylic and oil), ink and texture mediums, newspaper, cardboard, fabric, photographs, canvas, etc. She has an intense passion for vibrant colours and pop culture and takes inspiration from nature, the media and artists past and present. She likes to capture ordinary objects, landscapes and simple pleasures. Her multi-layered canvases are often infused with humorous elements and playful images allowing the viewer to join in her sophisticated and abstract, yet childlike exploration of life and the world in which we live.
