In Her Place, an award-winning co-production between Canada and South Korea, will be the Friday Evening Feature Film at the Routes to Roots Film Festival in downtown Simcoe, Norfolk County, Canada.

Directed by Albert Shin, the film follows a mysterious city woman who comes to a rural farm in South Korea where she’s taken in by a weathered woman and her odd teenage daughter. The three woman stay in isolation as they begin to fall into a new rhythm of life together, each working to fill a void within. However, as their very different paths converge, their arrangement becomes more than what they bargained for.

“Making good use of the mist-shrouded rural South Korea setting to create moody tension, Shin’s film builds slowly to a shattering finale that shocks as much as it surprises,” according to the Toronto Star.

In Her Place will run on the Friday evening of the two-day film festival set for October 20-21, 2017.
